My testimony of the Temple

To anyone who may be visiting here, I would like to share with you my testimony of the Temple.

My first memory of the Temple is when I was only 5 years old, as my family went through the Open House of the the Las Vegas, NV Temple. I remember holding my Grandma Owens hand as we walked up some stairs and to my left I could see a very large picture of Christ. I couldn't remember what picture of Christ it was, I just remember it was there. Then, on Thursday January 9th, 2009 I was ready to enter the Lords Temple to receive my own Temple ordinances. I wanted to relive that moment of finding the picture from my memory. During my endowment, I could feel the spirit strongly, I was so happy. Many friends and members of my family were there with me and I was about to get married in a few days. My heart longed for my grandmother to be there, but she passed away in 1992, so I was praying that she was there in spirit with me. As I entered the Celestial room for the first time, my family was there to greet me with warm hugs. What a great moment that was! As a family, we left the room and down the stairs we went, then, there it was, the picture from my memory, there was my Savior. And in a childish mannor, I squeezed my hand, as if I were holding my Grandmas hand again. At that moment the spirit shot through my body, and it was right then that I knew my Grandma was there with me.

I miss many members of my family and many friends who have passed away, but I know we will meet again, and in the Temple I get a small glimpse of what that meeting will be like. In the Temple, I can help others-people that I hope to meet someday, receive what I too have recieved. Tomorrow night, I will be attending the Temple, I hope you will have the want to attend as well.
