That's where I was 10 years ago, the very moment that I had heard what was going on in our country. This morning I shed lots of tears as I watched the memorials in NYC take place. My heart is heavier for the friends and family members of those lives lost than it was in 2001. Don't get me wrong, I was horrified and so sad back then, but since, my life has changed. I now know what it means to "really" be in love. I have a husband and son now, and if anything were to happen to either of them like that, I think I would want to die too. I wouldn't know how to go on without them. My heart hurts for the children who lost parents, for the fathers who didn't get to see their baby be born and for or the parents whose child's life ended before their own. I am thankful to the men and women in our Military who put their lives on the line to protect our country. May we thank them all and stand with pride and say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem. God bless the USA! I will never forget.

We had our Stake Conference today and as the closing prayer was being said, I was out in the hall with our very busy and very noisy little guy. I glanced outside and noticed some VERY heavy rain coming down. How exciting, we never get rain and when it does, it only last for about 5 minutes. When the prayer was finished I found my way back to where Lee was sitting and said that it was pouring outside and maybe we should wait a minute until going out so we don't get soaked. After a couple moments we went out to the car and just like I suspected, the rain was gone.
We loaded up and headed home and as we drove we noticed a lot of flooding in the first intersection. To make this story short, our usual 10 minute drive home took us about 20 minutes. The streets were FLOODED!!!!
We of course saw the ghetto people of Las Vegas playing in the very dirty and heavy water, it was up to some of their knees, we watched a small car get stuck and we even saw marble sized hail(may I remind you that it is SEPTEMBER). The street we take to get to our house is called Walnut and it was more like Lake Walnut. When we were close to our house, Walnut was lined with people from our neighborhood watching the water in amazement and excitement.
Thankful to have made it home without getting our car stuck, we parked the car and decided to join our neighbors. I grabbed the camera and Lee grabbed the camcorder. William loved the hail even though it was cold; who knows when he'll see that again-Heck that's the first time I had seen it that big. The water drained pretty fast considering how high it was and our streets are still a big mess from the crazy downpour.
