Picking Pumpkins

Last year we started the tradition of going to Gilcrease Orchard to pick our pumpkins for Halloween. We knew we needed to go this year, but trying to find a day was the difficult part with our busy schedules this time of year. Short notice sent Lee to New Mexico for training this week and next Monday is Halloween, so we realized that we would have to go without Daddy this year, so instead we took Grandma and we all had a blast.

William was more interested in the sticks and dirt rather than the pumpkins, but we quickly found the perfect pumpkins for all of us. When we were all done, we headed for the vegetables where we found lots of zucchini. I grabbed a few to make with one of dinners next week, while Grandma, whom loves zucchini, grabbed a giant arm full. :) We made our way to the checkouts when Grandma spotted the homemade donuts!
Oh. My. Gosh.
Those were THE BEST donuts I have ever had in my life- I am salivating just thinking of them. So, although we did miss having Daddy there, we enjoyed having Grandma this year with us. We had so much fun stomping through the fields picking whatever out hearts desired. Next year, I hope to get more members of my family to join us too, all the kids will love it.
