Yesterday was my 15 week mark in this pregnancy and I thought to myself, "I wonder if the Doctor can tell what we're having at my appointment tomorrow?" Far fetched is what I was really thinking, after all, I'm only 15 weeks. But wouldn't it be fun to have him write it down and place it in an envelope and we'll open it on Christmas morning? Yes, it would, Sheree.
So I head in this morning, greet my Doctor who seems extra cheery this morning, we make a few jokes and he starts on an ultrasound to check the heartbeat and size of the baby. Then he takes me by surprise and says, "Do you want to know the sex of the baby? I can put it in a present and you can open it on Christmas morning!" I was shocked, yet SO EXCITED at the same time!! "YES, (I think I might have screamed it) I WOULD LOVE THAT!!" He also told me that his assistant came up with that idea last week and I was the first of his patients to be doing this, so he and his assistant were both pretty excited as well! Off went the lights and off went the monitor. Time seemed to take forever. But then he was done and his assistant left the room to start on my present.
Dr. Swainston did warn me that there was room for error, but that he was pretty sure he knew what the baby is. He asked me what my thoughts were and I said I wanted a girl and that I think it is a girl -I didn't get a reaction, he is good! I then said that my boy is pretty darn cute and I will take another boy. We both laughed and his assistant returned with my tiny little present wrapped in packing tape so we couldn't take any peeks. We were all smiles and he then gave me an excited hug and I told him that this was the best appointment EVER!
PINK or BLUE??????
I originally thought pink, but now I'm thinking blue, but then I go back to pink! I am even more confused now than I was before, it's crazy and very exciting. I can't wait for Christmas morning, this will be the first present opened for sure.
