Today, this handsome little guy turned 18 months, which means, since today is Sunday, it was also his first day of Nursery. Last night I dreamt of it and I woke up sad, I don't like my Bubba growing up so fast. Today was such a big day for William, as we walked into church, he was so happy (I knew that was about to change for the worse). We found "William Flick" on room number 112 and my heart sank. Due to my calling, I couldn't stay with him like I would like to, so Lee stayed as much as he could and when Lee had to leave..... WILLIAM LET EVERYONE KNOW HE WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT! The Nursery leader had to come get Lee a couple times since William was so overwhelmed with fear (-my poor baby).
When I got a few minutes, I snuck off into the hall and peeked through the peep hole. I couln't tell if Lee was sitting in the corner at that time or not but when I looked in I saw about 4 kids his age and William sitting at a table looking at books. Again my heart sank and my eyes started to get glossy -at least for that moment, my little boy was doing okay and he didn't seem so little anymore. I had to pull myself away before I started crying. Since he is always with me and is such a Daddy's boy right now, this was a big deal for him and I am very proud of him on his big day.
William has done a lot of growing up since his 1st birthday, so lets take a look at what he's been up to.
- Talks all day long..... mostly just a bunch of babbleing but we can pick out a few words here and there like: Hi, Dog, Mom, Dad, Baby, Huh?, I, Eyes, Yum, Muah (when he gives kisses), What was that?, Car, Thanks, All Done, and we think he might be trying to say Jesus, Tigger, Disneyland and Temple. (Of course in typical William fashion, he only says these words when he wants to, not when you really want him to. It has to be his idea.)
- Has a huge fasination with Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse.
- Likes to watch movies, especially Pooh Bear.
- Goes to bed on his own at 8pm and wakes up around 7am.
- Favorite book is Dinosoar Roar.
- Still does not like a lot of textured foods which makes meal times stressful. Hates pasta and corn but loves all things sugar!
- Helps with the laundry -likes to press the buttons, put clothes in his hamper, and take clothes out of the dryer.
- Rides his Tonka truck all over the house.
- Gets into every drawer imaginable.
- Has taking a liking to fruit oatmeal for breakfast.
- His favorite blanket is a Deer blanket that Grandpa Huntsman gave him and he takes it everywhere and gets mad when he can't get it out of his crib all by himself.
- Loves to shake his head "No" and just about anything you ask him gets this response.
- Signs "All done", "Please" and "More".
- Again, it has to be his idea, but he will fold his arms when we say prayers.
- Has gone pee-pee in his big boy potty 3 times since Christmas.
- Likes to scribble in his coloring books.
- Loves to hear I Am a Child of God before bed.
- Can identify his eyes, nose, ears and toes.
- Thinks its funny to "beat his drum" (pat his tummy).
- Likes to dump all his toys out on the floor before playing with them.
