Enough with the bodily fluids.....PLEASE!!

Thanks to the ugly and super nasty stomach virus that is going around, I've been cleaning up after my children's bodily fluids all week.  This is really scary when your baby is only 7 weeks old, not eating, throwing up everywhere, has a fever and is very sleepy.  That's what I experienced on Wednesday with Millie and boy, was I a mess.  By noon I had left a message with the nurse at her Pediatricians office and and by 3 and another vomit episode, I was on the phone with the receptionist begging to be seen.  We met with a different Pediatrician in the office at 4.  She was very nice as she examined Millie and Lee and I watched and waited for answers close by.  She said that Millie could have a virus, but because she was slightly dehydrated and not fussing for food, she said that Millie had won herself a ticket across the street to the Emergency Room.  I lost it.  I can barely handle seeing my kids a little sick, but in the Hospital?  No way, I can't do that!  I was sobbing as we walked out, not knowing what else to do to comfort my sweet girl.

About an hour later, Millie had had an ultrasound on her stomach and an X-Ray done on her stomach.  As we waited for the Doctor to go over the results, I held Millie as she slept in my arms.  I cried and prayed, and cried and prayed over and over again.  Not long after that, a very happy Doctor came bouncing in and said that the results were all normal and that Millie most likely had the virus and all we could do was let it run it's course and feed her smaller amounts more often and use Pedialyte.  I was happy again and we quickly got out of there.

Thursday Millie seemed much better, and Friday she threw up a couple times while we were eating dinner.  She is back to smiling and cooing again which brings happiness to my heart.  Hopefully we can get past this quickly and I can have my baby back to good health.

Poor William has had his share too  -Just from the other direction....... YUCK!  Did I mention we're potty training him?  Yeah, it hasn't been pretty.  Lee has not been feeling 100% either, hopefully he gets better before he gets worse.  And as for me, I have been drinking 100% Grape Juice 3 times a day.  It's a stomach virus remedy I found and I think it works.  Thursday I was feeling a little yuckish, but now I feel normal.  I think I'll keep up with the juice as long as I am still taking care of others who are ill.

Oh, Sheree that must have been gut wrenching! It stinks when your kids are sick, but with your precious little Millie being that tiny it must have seemed like forever to get those results! I am so HAPPY she is much better. On the potty training and having William be sick...I can totally relate! I have Evan all good to go and right around Christmas he came down with really bad you know what from you know where..it was water!! HORRIBLE. I put him back into diapers, no choice, but thankfully once he was better he didn't revert back. You poor thing, you guys must have had what we had a few weeks ago. Bert lucked out, but the boys and I, no such luck! I'm trying the grape juice thing though next time for sure, great tip.
