At 5:36 pm Thursday evening, we hit the road rolling. Our destination? LEHI, UT to visit my sister an her family. A quick trip, but we had a blast! And because I am a loser, this is the only picture I got of her family. "M" is a cutie! :)
We arrived at my sister and brother in laws house around 12:00 am. William of course was ready to party, so we quickly got ready for bed and tried to calm down our hyper boy to go to sleep. Friday morning we ate a yummy fruit breakfast and enjoyed some much needed chatting with each other. After a couple of hours of that, my sister told Lee and I to go out on a day date and she would keep an eye on William for us. We were delighted! William had so much fun playing in the BIG back yard at the what we call "The FUN House" with his cousins, he didn't even notice we were gone. Lee and I went to IKEA and did some fun shopping and planned out some layouts and designs for our house. Then we had some hot dogs before leaving. I think IKEA has the best hot dogs and mustard, and they are only 50 cents. SCORE! (Yes, we are cheap dates.)
William played so hard, he didn't even go down for a nap until about 3. When he woke up, he was ready to head back outside, in which we happily let him. Stephanie made some to die for chicken wings and dipping sauce and then the girls and the guys separated to watch action movies and chick flicks.
The next day was more relaxed. I don't even think Lee showered until early afternoon. My sister tagged along with me as I went and did a photo shoot with a very awesome family. My other 2 sessions canceled thanks to Strep and an unexpected job offer to Arizona. All worked out though, because the weather was insanely cold and windy half way through that shoot. Good thing I work fast!
That night we went to The Pie for dinner. We got a WHOLE HECK OF A LOT of pizza. Nuff said.
After a fun couple of days, it was time to come home.... BOO!!! 5 hours in the car, here we come. William did great on the car ride home too, thanks to my Moms portable DVD player. We need to get one of those this year.
It snowed so much on our way home, it was so beautiful and it made the drive home a little more bearable. I don't think the snow stopped until after Cedar City.
We stopped in Cedar City to use the "potty" and to grab something to eat. While we were inside, William enjoyed watching the snow fall from the window. When it stopped, he enjoyed drinking all our soda....
Just as we got ready to load up in the car, it started to snow again. Around that same time, a giant tree apparently started to grow out of my head -that explains that massive headache I had.
So yes, it was a quick weekend trip, but it was way fun. Can't wait to go back!
