Do you know the way to San Jose?

Last Month we hit the road with our good friends, the Maxwell's to their home city of San Jose, CA.  We would be doing some fun photo shoots as our main reason for this trip, but because Lee and I had never been to the Bay Area, we were pretty excited!  Rachael and Jeremy gave us the royal tourist treatment.  :)  Thanks again guys for all the fun!!!

First up:  Thursday.  The 8 hour road trip to Rachael's parents house in San Jose.  Our boys made themselves right at home...... They liked the fountain in the back yard, but thought they could do a better job with the rock arrangement.  Rachael's parents were gracious enough to open up their home to us for the weekend.  We are usually up pretty late at night, but for some reason, this trip wiped Lee and I out and we were in bed shortly after the kids.  I know, we're getting old!

Friday:  We went to a pretty cool spot and did some family shoots of our families.  Rachael took ours (Poor girl had to deal with my uncooperative 2 year old) and then I took their photos.
Later that afternoon we drove to Santa Cruz for Rachael and Jeremy's anniversary shoot.  We all loved the boardwalk and the beach.  A big thank you to Rachael's Mom and Dad for watching Millie and to Lee for watching the boys on the beach while we did pictures.  :)

Saturday (AKA "Be a Tourist Day"):  Rachael and Jeremy took us to see San Francisco!  I have always wanted to see this city for some reason and it did not disappoint.  Well, maybe a little, we didn't get to see The Golden Gate Bridge thanks to the heavy fog.  BOO!!!  Guess we'll have to go again someday!  :)  We went to Historic Pier 39, saw Alcatraz, the Sea Lions, ate chocolate, William requested his favorite "Pizzas" for lunch, went to Fisherman's Wharf, got Sourdough bread and froze our butts off.  It was AWESOME!!

Then we jumped (okay, we drove) over the Oakland Bridge into Oakland to see the Oakland Temple.  **How many times can you use Oakland in a sentence, Sheree?  Answer: 3!

It was a really quick but FUN trip!!
